Norway Savings Bank Celebrates and Recognizes 2012 Employee Achievements

NORWAY, Maine – Norway Savings Bank recently held its Annual Employee Awards Banquet to celebrate the employee’s achievements and successes of 2012. This evening event focused on recognizing individuals and departments for their accomplishments by Senior Management.
2012 Employee of the Year
Nancy Stroud, Security Administrator, was named 2012 Employee of the Year. Stroud received this award for her many accomplishments throughout 2012. David Wyman, Chief Operating Officer, presented her with the award.
“Nancy had a remarkable year,” explained Wyman. “She accomplished multiple significant improvements to the Bank’s security software, distinguished herself by coordinating projects related to building renovations and performed additional Information Technology responsibilities as needed.”
After joining the bank in 2007 as a Teller Supervisor, Stroud was promoted to Security Administrator in 2011. In her role, Nancy administers the Bank’s Anti-Money Laundering program and assists with oversight and coordination of facility-related issues at the Congress Street location. Nancy holds a General Banking Diploma from the American Institute of Banking as well as her Supervision Diploma and Bank Operations Diploma from the Northern New England Center for Financial Training.
2012 President’s Award
This year’s President’s Award was awarded to Vicky Libby, Vice President, Loan Servicing Manager. Libby is a member of the Bank’s Employee Leadership Crew and has been instrumental in leading many of the Bank’s initiatives. In 2012, Libby took on the role of implementing the Bank’s mentoring program. She was responsible for the design, implementation and management of the program, which had 18 participants in its first year. She will be at the forefront again in 2013 taking on additional leadership roles for important bank-wide initiatives.
“Vicky is a strong leader who has brought much knowledge, leadership and stability to the Bank’s Loan Operations Department,” described Patricia Weigel, President. “In fact, this department has experienced no turnover in 4 years under her leadership.”
Libby not only works tirelessly for the betterment of Norway Savings Bank, but in the off hours gives countless time to non-profits, her church and to a number of exchange students.

Leadership Award: Irene Millett (Commercial Administration) and Karry Kane (Topsham)
Team Player Award: Jessica Tice (Deposit Operations) and Talley Estes (Commercial Administration)
Length of Service Awards
Employees who celebrated a milestone anniversary with the bank were also recognized at the banquet. The most notable Length of Service Award of the evening was given to Deb McPhail, who has been with the bank for 30 years.
